Our Communities

Lucknow

Lucknow, located at the eastern entrance to Huron-Kinloss envokes a "General Store" feel, where locally produced goods are readily available in the quaint downtown. A perfect stop to load up on fresh baking, local meats, cheese and produce, while checking out an array of locally owned gift shops. The sense of pride and community is evident everywhere you look in Lucknow.

“The Back Forty is the feeling you get when biking on gravel roads, alongside wheat fields blowing in the wind. It’s a place where time slows and hard work, grit and determination are a part of the everyday fabric.”

Point Clark

A beacon of pride in Huron-Kinloss, the Point Clark Lighthouse is a National Historic Site and one of the first ‘imperial towers' to flash its light. Six of these towers were built by John Brown on Lake Huron and Georgian Bay in the 1850s. Built of limestone from nearby Inverhuron, the Point Clark Lighthouse stands 26.5 metres (80 feet) high, featuring 114 steps to get to the top.

Included with admission to the tower is the newly revitalized Museum, located in the Lightkeeper's former home.

Ripley

A small but mighty downtown is home to passionate local business owner offering an array of goods. The Bruce Botanical Food Gardens is just off main street and showcases a living marketing place with heirloom and rare plants available to the public, seasonally.
